Aside from a ride with a fellow classmate, what are the options to get from C-Ville to the airport in Richmond?

Without any research, the likely guesses would be bus and amtrak.

A shuttle to the RIC airport would cost a lot (it's 70 miles away). A flight out of Charlottesville might have a higher fare, but it might work out to be less expensive because it wouldn't require such an expensive trip to the airport.

Thanks. At the moment D is a little skittish about prop planes. They sort of remind her of those funny things called rotary phones. I guess she isn't into understanding about glide ratios but then again, with the lure of leather seats, blue chips and direct TV (Jet Blue) who can blame her.

The admission officers like the smaller planes...the fewer the number of people on board, the faster you can get out! At CHO, you go from the plane, to baggage claim, to the curb in 20 minutes.

Well said. My preference as well. My only problem is being temporarilly deaf for a few hours after deplaning. Nothing like having to read lips in Court.

Not sure where your headed, but my S has flown Comair out of Charlottesville to Cincinnati several times and it's a small regional jet--no props--nice equipment. It's about 15 minutes from Grounds to airport---no security hassles, etc.

All the flights to New York (LGA) are prop planes. I agree, using CHO is easy and convenient.
