CA Residents::CAL GRANT

people relax my mom also makes a little and I got cal grant B although my gpa is 4.0. In fact I will also get cal grant A. Some people qualify for both. Depending on what college you get into you will get certain amount for cal grant. for example those who go to private get more than UC and Cal state
schools. I got 1551 for cal grant B btw.

I got my cal grant stuff but it was only for my privates.. I had filed only my FAFSA for my privates when I had sent in my GPA stuff so I don't know how much I'll be getting for the UCs. Hopefully.. a lot? I have no clue. I hope it doesn't mean I'm not getting ANYTHING at all. That would be sad. )=

If they paid 6 grand, then that's almost full tuition if you're in state. Pretty damn generous.

purplechick, of course i know you get different amounts depending on what school you go to, but you understand though when you quailfy for both cal grant a and b, it doesn't mean you're getting both.

Hmmm...could someone help?

I received my cal grant letter in the mail today and it only shows award information for 3 of the schools I applied to...USC, UCLA, and UCSB...

I got rejected from UCLA yesterday (:mad: :()...so what should I do? How do I know how much I could receive in grants from those other schools that I applied to?

I'm still waiting on decisions from Berkeley and San Diego, and I would definitely go to one of those over UCSB if I were to get in.

Any advice would be great. Thanks!

Edit: Which Cal Grant provides the most $? A, B, or C? And what's the highest that can be received from each one?

Ok, if your eligible for both YOU can choose. You have to write in to tell them and your supposed to discuss it with a financial aid advisor so you know exactly how it works. And the max is probably not going to be 8300 but 7449 this year. that is proposed and will be voted on in July. budget cuts. This is all explained on the papers that come with the grant offer.
