Hi,
I will be studying Biomedical Engineering at the University of Michigan next year. For my final trimester in high school, I have the choice to learn the ropes of either CADD or Inventor. I was wondering if the collegiate engineering courses preferred to use one over the other? Thanks!

I don’t even know what CADD is, but it seems like the most commonly used CAD programs are Pro/E and SolidWorks at most schools.

Once you learn one, you’ll learn the others pretty quickly.

UofM is mostly Solidworks and ProE. A few use Catia and Inventor.

I can’t find any info on a single CAD package called “CADD.” I use Inventor at school. I wish there was a Linux-friendly alternative but bizarrely there isn’t a good one that I know of.
