sry to back track, but to reiterate, the academics is a serious note

some ppl come in straight As, and its not uncommon to see Cs, Ds, and even occasional Fs. just know you can't be perfect, but it is still possiblt to do well. As and Bs are achievable in every class given the right study habits and natural ability to learn. so don't assume you'll get a C, but don't beat yourself up over it if you do.

One thing you'll learn is that, if you have a natural skill in school (writing for me), the subject that is linked to that skill will really show. It's not uncommon for people to struggle in most of their classes but have that one high B or low A. At the same time though, don't blow off classes that use that skill you have. Instead, work hard in those classes so that you can get the highest grade possible make up for bad grades in other classes. Learning how much to study for each subject (yep, you have to learn that again) is one of the hardest parts academically of your first semester. The classes themselves are usually not TOO brutal. Time management can be.

I totally second what eagle said. Classes here are generally VERY manageable (especailly your 4 degree year) as long as you stay on top of everything that needs to be done. What happens to most first semester 4 digs is they fall behind early in the semester because they're still trying to adapt to a new environment and figure everything out. If you were a procrastinator in high school... realize that you CAN'T be one at the Academy and still expect to get good grades. Manage your time well, go in for EI, stay ahead on homework, and FOLLOW THE SYLLABUS. If you do, you can honestly get pretty good grades here and life is so much less stressful!
