Hi everyone! I'm wondering what kind of stats could get me into CAL for EE. I've heard it's really hard to get in and I'm a bit worried. I don't have any really outstanding ECs. I don't take extremely hard classes either. I'm only taking 1 AP and 1 honors class and I'm a junior, but my gpa is above 4 weighted. Anyone got a list of things that could help me get in? Thanks!

what is CAL? (forgive my ignorance)

CAL = UC Berkeley

Any help anyone?

Hey uhh im a senior trying to do the same thing.. trying to get into the EECS program.. i think i might have a shot, get a high schore on ur SAT2 MATH.. make sure u take AP Physics, AP CALC, and any other AP courses.. keep up the good grades and do well on ur SATS.

You need crazily competitive numerical stats for UCB EE/EECS... Shoot for a 4.35 weighted GPA and a 2200 SAT I score, with 750+/750+/750+ on your math/science SAT II scores to be a Match for EE/EECS in-state. :rolleyes:

.... i know its that hard.. hopefully i can squeeze in with a 4.3 weighted, 800 math 2c 760 bio, 2090 SAT, and 10 AP classes... good luck junior study hard....

I got a 790 on my math IIC so should I retake it? My percentile is really low, like only 85. Also, my school doesn't offer AP physics, so I was forced to take AP chem so I could get an AP class. I've heard people get into EE with AP chem, but I'm not sure if its the best way.

Don't retake your math just based on the percentile...an 800 is no higher than 90th percentile on IIC. Your 790 is fine. You should be fine with AP Chem...they can't expect you to take what your school doesn't offer.

I'm just curious, killernago. Why do you want to go to that particular program so much?

I have asian parents. I actually don't even want to do EE, but my parents are making me, so yeah. Berkeley is the best school I am going to apply for and it seems a realistic goal for me, so I want to go there.

thats pretty sad. i have asian parents too, but they didn't force me into that major... i think u should do whatever u have an interest in. AS i hear, EE is a very hard major and you won't get through it (easily) if you don't like the material. Good Luck

what's EE??

electrical engineering
