I'm currently a freshman at UC Davis, doubling in polisci and econ but am considering the possibility of transferring to Berkeley. I already know that UCB has both a stellar political science and econ department but I am concerned about networking and internship opportunities (whereas Davis is close to the Capitol)

You can transfer to Cal. Just make sure your GPA is very high. For econ, it needs to be a 4.0 because priority is given to california community college students and that major is impacted. Poli-sci should be easier to get into but youll still need a high GPA, good ECs, maybe an internship, etc. Gl.

thanks investment. but i was also wondering how davis and berkeley compared in terms of internship opportunities

Well, you won’t find many opportunities for a Tea Party internship in Berkeley if that’s your kinda thing lol, but it shouldn’t be all that much worse than being in Sac would be.

I think the competition is harder in Berkeley for things like that though, which leads me to ask why people are turned on by that sorta thing. Well, whatever.

you could intern at a non-profit. it’s the bay area, open your eyes and don’t just look at the capitol

does anyone know if berkeley has something comparable to davis’ university honors program? it is a university-wide program versus the usual major specific honors
