I was wondering if I can still apply for a minor in structural engineering as an advanced standing transfer student.

I think I need to one more class, E36 (Engineering Mechanics 1), to fulfill the pre-reqs.

If anyone knows, please respond.

Thanks!

Hey I think the minor in structural engineering is for Architecture majors. As a Civil Engineer, you can simply do your “emphasis” in Structural by taking classes in that dept (as opposed to Geotech or Environmental or another emphasis).
Also, although I haven’t taken any upper divs yet, if you’re willing to dedicate 8 hours studying, you should definitely get the material. And the fact that you enjoyed math and physics is definitely a plus! Most of my CE friends and I didn’t like those classes haha. But yes there is camaraderie to some extent, more so in CE than say, Business. But there’s a lot of competition too.
Class sizes are relatively small for upper divs: from 30-60.

Thanks for all the info, caltouci.

If I ever run into you I owe you a beer.
