Cal Grant A or B

I'm qualified for both Cal Grant A and B and I am currently attending a community college. The default choice was Cal Grant B and the award amount was $1,551 for my freshman year. How do I figure out how much Cal Grant A will give me and how much Cal Grant B will give for my 2nd year of college? Thanks.

Cal Grant A pays tuition only at universities. CG A will be put on CC Reserve for 2 years automatically for you and allows you to attend a Community College to then use it at a University. Its available as a freshmen, sophomore, junior or senior and extended for certain 5yr programs.

For 2008-09 the amounts are.
Private Universities up to $9708.
Universities of California up to $7126.
California State Universities up to $3048.
Community Colleges $0. Cannot be used at a CC.

Cal Grant B every year has the $1551. "Access Award" plus the "Tuition Award" starting as a sophomore at universities.

Community Colleges: Every Year $1551 only.

CG B Freshmen at Private Univerities, UC's, State $1551 only

CG B Sophomore-Senior at Private Univerities, UC's, State $1551 plus tuition award.
The tuition amounts are the same as CG A.
