I cannot find a published formula for CAL Grant "Total Income" (dependent students) line calculation and my last post did not receive an answer.

You can help! Please, if your dependent was awarded a CAL Grant help those (like me) who need to know and you needn't share any personal info in the process.

All I need is to compare the "Parent's Total Income" line displayed by the CSAC to some amounts you entered on FAFSA and answer 3 Yes/No questions regarding whether they match or not.

Take FAFSA Line#83 (your AGIs) + [Sum of 92a-i]. Compare it to the amount reported by the CSAC Webgrants Award Detail page (click link, login, then click link again or goto CALGrant, View Award Detail, total is at the bottom).

Question #1: Do the two amounts match? (yes/no)
Question #2: If it does match, were all the values for FAFSA #91a-f zero? (yes/no)
Question #3: If it does NOT match, further Subtract the [Sum of 91a-f]. Now does the total match the CSAC amount? (it should)

That's all!

*For those FinAid officers and meticulous parents, the calculations above are the same as EFC formula worksheet lines #5,#7 "Total Income - Parents Section". *

I would be VERY grateful if you could help determine this formula with me. Thanks in Advance!
