<p>So I submitted my Cal Grant, and it was awarded. Yay woohoo. The problem is, that it lists me as independent while I'm actually a dependent. Then I checked the values... and they used the value from the very first FAFSA I did, the one without my corrections. On the final one (I had to do a lot of correcting since I wasn't used to doing all this FA stuff by myself), and the last correction was done on March 4th or so with (finally) the correct dependency status and values. The values itself were close, all under 70k for income, but I'm worried. Is this gonna change my award at all for the worse since I'm a dependent now? Any idea on this case would be a lot of help. Thanks!</p>
<p>As long as your family is still below the income and asset ceilings, then there shouldn’t be an issue still receiving Cal Grant. You could call or email CSAC if you want to be sure, though.</p>
