I still have not been awarded a cal grant (website says "Application Awaiting Processing"), but I turned in my FAFSA in early Jan and my GPA report was turned in on time. I am a transfer student (transferring back to a CA school after going OOS for 2 years), so I don't know whether that has anything to do with it.

Has anyone else not heard about their award? Should I be worried that I haven't gotten info yet?

These things can come in VERY slowly. As a transfer student you are probably not high priority. I suggest talking to a live person at the end of May if nothing has come in by then and then once a month after that. I kid you not, some awards are not finalized until the end of summer.

Transfer or frosh has no bearing on priority.

Are you a transfer from an OOS or a CCC? That would be the big hangup and likely denial. Transfer entitlement is from a CCC to a qualified four-year only.

Best idea is to call, though, as the SIR deadline is soon.

I thought I was the only one…it’s kind of a relief. But whether I receive a Cal Grant or not really impacts where I’ll be transferring. D: I hope they notify us before the end of May…will calling them make any difference? CCC student transferring to a UC.
