Cal Housing App: For those who CAN see it

yeah, it looks like the A-1's are admits, i hope that they update my info before tomorrow as well.

Sparky are you an A-2 or a B-2?

politrix...there is nothing wrong with Davis...I have taken a few classes there and I live in Davis. I personally love the campus and all the activities...especially picnic day. If I don't get into Cal I'm going to Davis on a full scholarship. Just because one person hates it does not mean you will.
I suggest visiting the campus if you haven't already and drawing your own conclusions...good luck with that...=)

i cant see the app, or i cant login, but i dont think that means im rejected, they might be in the process of making updates, who knows.

Everyone,

be sure to come back and do a followup post after you receive your admit/reject. We can know this for sure and next year's applicants can use this trick if Berkeley doesn't fix it up before then.

Sparky, I mean does it say your CalNet ID does not exist, or has not been activated yet?

If they cannot see the housing app, they have no idea what their CalNet id is.

that's not true at all. i know what my calnet id is, and the absence of the housing app tells me specifically that my ID is valid, just that they cannot confirm my status and admitted or registered

davisengineer: that's false

before I could see the housing app, I could still see my calnetid

Ahh... Then why did I invite only the housing people in here?...

Haha. Non-housing app people could help us verify this as well by all being (b)s

davisengineer...I can't quite understand your last post...could you please rephrase that...thanks

When I made this thread, I named it "Cal Housing App: For those who CAN see it", thinking that people who couldn't see the app wouldn't know what their CalNet ID is and thus wouldn't be able to help us test whether they're (a) or (b).

I'm assuming everyone who cannot view the housing application form is a (b) when they test their CalNet ID... Is this true?

i am an A/1

this is true.

actually the theory still works out...from what I understand..everyone who logs into the housing site can see what their calnet # is regardless if they can see the application or not. For some it says that we are "not recognized as an admitted student" and for some of us the application is accessable. We then use our calnet id to log onto a different area to see if we can authenticate it. For some of us it says "does not exist" and for others "is not activated." Am I right or am I missing something? Sorry I'm a little slow today.

no, that's how it is. that's how it works. as far is its validity concerned, i'm surprised that there are so many acceptances. i'm sure many people are very glad to be going to berkeley, i suppose? since so many people can see it?

"so many acceptances"- A lot of top students are here I guess :]

it seems like this year they accepted a lot more people. at least UCLA did.

When I enter my uc application id on housing login it sends me to a page that says this

This application is available to admitted or registered undergraduate students only. Your login (CalNet ID: 19######) is valid, but we cannot currently confirm your status as admitted or registered. If you have just been admitted, there may be a delay of a day or so before the Housing database receives your updated status; but if you are an admitted (or currently registered) student and you continue to receive this message, please contact the Housing Office or Tech Support for assistance.

lol. So does that mean i got rejected?

tlu: according to this theory, yes :(
