Cal Housing - "Can you see the Application" list

i mean...no cred number...just that i will be charged 20 bucks to my bear casrd or whatever... sorry, im at work and going between this and answering phones...

Yeah, if you applied last year, that would fit the bill as to why you can see it.

Seeing the application remains = meaningless to determine acceptance.

yea...i better get in again or i am throwing a fit..

You can't say its meaningless, since we don't know who has been admitted or not.

Exactly. We have people who didn't apply out of HS and CAN see it, people who did and CAN'T, people who are UC transfers and CAN/CAN'T, and perhaps most tellingly, people who applied for a fee waiver the second time (but not the first) and it says that they have "been ADMITTED as a fee-waiver applicant".

Until the theory is disproven, it's the most probable explanation.

You guys are right and I have argued that same point before. My words came out wrong.

Currently however, seeing the application does not prove you are in. There is some meaning behind it right now that may, or may not include acceptance however.

If ever we could find someone who can see the app, who didnt apply out of hS, didnt take summer school, and is not a current UC student, I would be very happy.Too my knowledge, and I have obsessed over this one for awhile, that person doesnt exist yet.

Who was the intercampus transfer who couldn't see the application?

I thought all intercampus people could see it.

i am intercampus and can't see

hey tupac, did you apply in HS?

sorry if youve answered that before but you know how these forums are, what with >7000 posts on the official uc thread...its hard to dig through

i did apply in HS and got in, yet i still cant see it!

The plot thickens...

whew thats good news. im uc to uc too and cant see it

This application is available to admitted or registered undergraduate students only. Your login (CalNet ID: 15xxxxx2) is valid, but we cannot currently confirm your status as admitted or registered. ...

-i applied out of high school
-i am a transfer student
-and i cannot see it

I have a new theory. If you get admitted, it means you're admitted. I guess we'll find out for Berzerkely in a few days, but do the UCLA admittances corroborate this theory?

The UCLA theory regarded a FAFSA. The UCB theory regards housing. They are altogether different subjects and cannot be compared to one another.

i think you guys forgot to factor another thing in... berkeley admits spring transfer students as well, who dont get housing. so even if the app means you were admitted, theres probably a chance that spring admits wouldnt see the app

Yes, but my theory conveniently applies to both!

no way m_l, thats such a crazy idea...its more like if you received a phone call for cal day, can see the app, didn't apply in HS or are an intercampus transfer, didnt take summer classes and are in no way affliated with cal youre in.

:P

If all the people who can see the application are IN, and some of the people who can't see it are IN (spring transfer), WAY WAY WAY too many people are getting in to Cal given the previous performance of the board. I'd love for all of us to get in, but it isn't going to happen :/.

^I don't think so. I think the amount of people who could see it plus, lets say 1/2 to a 1/4 of people who can't see it, would equal still less than the amount of people admitted to UCLA from this board.
