Cal Housing - "Can you see the Application" list

On second thought, do you guys think that maybe the people who can see the application are the ones who have been evaluated already (not necessarily admitted), and the ones who can't are simply the people whose applications haven't been looked at yet?

Counter-evidence to this theory would be finding people whose CalNet ID is 17 or 18 and CAN'T see the application.

someone who can see housing app try it

laneb: 17 and 18's can't see = rejected maybe?

Same deal.

So here's the question: Are there 17's and 18's who can't see it?

Here is what I see at your link:

Authentication Web Server (AWS)

This is the UC Berkeley Authentication Web Server (AWS). In normal usage, your browser would be directed to this page by an application web server. However, you have apparently connected here directly.

If you want to login to an application that supports CalNet authentication, please go to the application's URL first.

https://calmail.berkeley.edu:10100/cgi-bin/eligibility.pl

click on authenticate

Google "CalNet Login" and click the first link.

what you getting back

wait, what happens so far when ppl try?

Same message, finally :P

aim chatroom: collegeconfidential
GOGOGOGOGOGO!

hmmmmmm

interesting... didn't expect wilderr to get same message

lostincode post #39 = ur a cruel, cruel person!! :0

argh now i wish i'd done better in hs & not have to deal with this transfer stuff
700+ sats & loads of ib fees to end up at a school i got into in hs s3l4rj il;fklgje4i2

Now now don't be rash. It doesn't necessarily mean anything. Keep your chin up!

Student record problem
This application is available to admitted or registered undergraduate students only. Your login (CalNet ID: 198XXXXX) is valid, but we cannot currently confirm your status as admitted or registered. If you have just been admitted, there may be a delay of a day or so before the Housing database receives your updated status; but if you are an admitted (or currently registered) student and you continue to receive this message, please contact the Housing Office or Tech Support for assistance.

that is the message my friend got who applied
1) he has not applied before (this is his first time)
2) he has a 4.0 in pre-reqs
3) he is a resident
4) 3.0 overall in transferrable

i was able to see the message though...this is VERY VERY interesting

^^^
I got the same message too. It's also my first time applying... but I'm under the impression that nobody with an id starting with 19 can see the application. Is that correct?

Not correct @ 19. I think. I wish there was a post with consolidated information rather than 2 scattered threads with 9000000 posts each.

i called housing (510-642-4108) just in case anyone else wants to give them a call...she said "it's interesting" that i'd have access to the housing site. i guess i shoulda probed further and straight up asked if it was a good sign...ugh, well maybe ill call again tomorrow lol.

God I wish they'd tell people something useful, thanks though ckd.

When I talked to housing yesterday, they indicated that they have no control over the data in their database-- iow, they know as much as we do (at least as of yesterday). It's admissions that needs to be called, apparently.

Bet admissions will plead mum, and honestly I don't think even they'd know. Except that they might be able to say "there is no way that many people have already been decided on", which would be of obvious use.
