Cal Housing Thread!

Wada is similar to the Mini-suites in Unit 1. You have a hallway style with each door in the hallway leading into an "apartment". You'll find a living room with a kitchen, a bathroom, and two doubles. The living room is pretty big and the apartments is really nice. Another upside is you're not forced to buy meal points and as a result it's a lot cheaper. You'll probably end up buying a small meal plan anyway. As for the social environment, you'll probably only see people in your apartment for the most part, and even then if you don't get along with them then you're kinda stuck. It's okay though, you'll make other friends through classes, clubs, and whatever. I don't think most of the housing is that social outside of the Units. And even in the Units you're not guaranteed to get along with your floor (and did I mention the small rooms?)

I think a good strategy is this: live in the units your first year, find some friends, then once you have some friends at Berkeley, find an apartment with them or live in the mini-suites or Wada or something. You can always live in the Units again if you're social but for your 3rd and 4th year I would definitely do Wada or apartments.

Thank you! I have now finalized my decisions ;)
Wait, one last question. What year are you in and how much bigger is Clark Kerr compared to the Units? % wise.

^ almost.

I currently live in Unit 2 but I've visited Clark Kerr a few times. The rooms are HUGE (especially triples) compared to the units. I'd say a triple is almost twice as big as a Unit Double/Triple.

Are there many girls over at Bowles or how does it work?

In general, how often are roommate requests honored?

Thanks, this is really helpful!
