Cal Mail

Ive signed up for a cal mail account, but I can get it to log in, what is used as the user name? Im not sure what to put there.
Thanks

say you are collegebound09 @calmail.berkeley.edu

username = collegebound09

~I had major problems with my calmail too...so I feel your pain :)

What did you do to get it working? Ive called up there, but it has you leave a message and they never returned the call--that was over a week ago. Also, if there is an underscore in the user name do you include that ie: college_bound09@calmail.berkeley.edu

I would think so. The biggest problem I had is that I did not notice that my password was too long when I entered it in to create it. So it copied over the letters (ie: say password = 5 letters and I put "rabbit", the password saved as "rabbt") but when I entered it into the log-in it entered as "rabbi". I was getting pretty frustrated and about to call...but then I just changed my password to fit and it worked. I felt kind of silly...lol

By the way, you can e-mail; for example:

intead of berkeleyrocks@calmail.berkeley.edu

you can use: berkeleyrocks@berkeley.edu

Giminihop-thank you, i felt really dumb...that was the problem--the password was way to long. Its a good thing Im going to Berkeley, cause high school certainly hasnt taught me the basic essentials :)
Eiffel- Thanks, that makes it easier to tell people.

I am glad I could help!!! :) Like I said, it drove me insane for awhile as well...I even almost posted on CC...

hey question...
what's the alias account for?
and what is max capacity of the calmail account?

thanks in advance..

100 MB is max I believe.

Alias is basically a separate e-mail address tied in with your original mailbox.

eiffelguy, how do i get my address to be @berkeley.edu instead of @calmail.berkely.edu?

nevermind, i figured it out

For those others who have not figured it out:

When sending your mail, your address will read @calmail.berkeley.edu; however, when people send you stuff, they can e-mail to @berkeley.edu and it will make it to your mail box.

actually eiffelguy if u want it to read from: username@berkeley.edu, click on options, under the heading "message composer", there is a text field where u can change the from address. it will say ur name and then: username@calmail.berkeley.edu change it so it reads: username@berkeley.edu. doing this, in any mail u send, the address will be from @berkeley.edu

i feel it looks much sexier :)

how do you make an alias/another account?

Darkhelmet: Hahahahah...after I posted that, I went back to check (because dinan... did it) and I found out how to do it...

nice, eiffelguy :)

kratos, to make an alias, click options, hit vactations/forward under the options tab, then sign in into the scrren that comes up, then there will be an option/link to setup an alias

conversly, on https://calmail.berkeley.edu/, under the username/password fields, hit manage your account, sign in, and then there will be a link to setup an alias
