Cal Poly Chance?

Hi I'm trying to apply to Cal Poly Early Decision due in two weeks. I have a 3.67 GPA unweighted 10-12 grade and a 3.66 cumulative GPA. I got a score of 25 english, 26 reading, 29 math, 23 science, 8 writing, 26 composite for ACT. And for SAT 500 CR, 640 Math, 490 writing. I did get a 4.0 last year for junior year. Not to mention all of them are CSU transferable (I took them all at a community college) and all my classes this year will be transferable. I don't really have that many EC. Just a some community service hours with Key Club my freshmen and sophomore year.

Thanks.

No one can comment on your Cal Poly chances without knowing what major you are applying for.

oops. Business Administration.

Bump…

Cal Poly SLO: match/high match

could someone else also chance me please? I would like more opinions-kind of nervous. I sent in my application today and can’t shake the nerves.

Your GPA and test scores look light. They use your 9,10 &11 grades and will give you up to 8 semesters of AP bonus. Maybe that will bring your GPA up a bit. Your high school courses will also weigh heavily.

This is what Average looked like this year:

Don’t get your hopes up and have a back-up plan.

Good luck

Given the business school average admission stats are :

Avg GPA: 3.94
Avg ACT: 29
Avg SAT: 1303 (out of 1600)

Since both your GPA and test score is below average, a reach given your current stats.

Also, they admitted too many freshmen this year, and will surely have to reduce the number of seats available for Fall 2014. So the average stats quoted will probably be higher than 2013.

Try to really improve your test score. It is not going to be a high match/match, but give it a shot you never know.

Good luck.
