@athena1995
I feel your pain I’m Computer Science (2170 SAT, 3.7 GPA) and people I know with lower stats are getting in. My portal hasn’t changed, I plan to check after noon

@athena1995- I applied on 11/20…haha maybe they haven’t decided for business in the Bay Area yet? I’m just checking the portal every hour…

@slo101 regarding “also, is there any relation between the email Cal Poly sent regarding FAFSA reminder and an acceptance email?”

If you mean whether receiving that email meant anything or not, it is just something they send out to all applicants, and it is not an indicator of your application status. (I received that email last year, and I was rejected.) Now, if you mean whether the time you received the email means anything, I don’t know, but I would guess it wouldn’t and that the computer would just go down a list of applicants and send them out.

I think it’s refreshed after noon, because that’s when you can call the admissions office.

My d was accepted on 19. Feb
Her major is biochem.

@clichedparadise: In the past, there had been people with portals that changed in the mid to late morning, so I don’t know about that. But yeah, it is probably a good idea not to check until later anyway, since portals are often updated in the afternoon. I keep on telling myself that I should just stop checking and check this evening or just wait to see if I receive an email because I’m just stressing myself out, but it is just so difficult to stop viewing the portal way too often.

I found out about my D’s acceptance on the portal in the early afternoon. Later that day she got an email from them with the subject line: “An Important Message from the Cal Poly Admissions Office”. If you continually check your portal you may find your decision before you get your email.

Got into EE. Found out on portal yesterday, no email yet.

Anybody hear for sociology yet. This is nerve wracking

Any Graphic Communications?

Is anyone else experiencing this? When I go to the portal it says no determination blah blah but it keeps zooming out, it’s cracking me up and I’m curious why its happening.

My son checked his portal on Tues. at 3:00 and there was nothing there. When he checked again at 6:00 it said he had been admitted. He still has not received an email.

Anyone hear anything today???

Nothin yet today :(

Cracking you up? It is a well known fact (just check the Internet) that a zooming out Cal Poly portal means “wait list”…

of course I’m pulling your leg. It only means wait list if it is zooming out and the sum of the numeric values of the letters spelling your last name is even.

@vulpesinculta - Lol that makes no sense… I’d bet one of your keys is stuck.

Computer Engineering here.

4.05 CSU/UC GPA
Substantially lower 9-11 GPA i.e. 3.60 UW
1570/2370 SAT

No decision made at this time.

Does anyone know why, if I’m a transfer student, my portal would say my academic level is “senior” and not “junior”?

How are the decisions released? Like how do they pick who to release when?

Hey Encraig81, mine says the same thing: “Senior”. I’m not sure if I accidentally put that when I filled out my application or they changed it based on my units. But I called them and said it was a mistake, and they said it doesn’t matter.
