Cal Poly Fall 2013 Admission Decisions

@encraig 81 and avatar102329:

My status also says senior. I’m pretty sure it’s just a mistake because they don’t accept seniors and I was accepted yesterday.

Just got waitlisted 5 minutes ago. Bummer, but maybe there is still an outside chance. Does anyone know about waitlisted students in the past?

@5555
I had a classmate last year get waitlisted as a computer engineering transfer who got accepted eventually and goes there now.

I just talked to someone else that was wait listed last year and got in.Better than a denial. Thanks for the info on your friend. Still a top choice for sure.

Still no determination…they’re driving me off the deep end :(

Looks like it has been pretty quiet today. Is it normal for a whole bunch of freshman decisions to be released before most of the transfer decisions? There seems to be only a smattering of transfer acceptances at this point.

Hey guys,

Could someone give me a rough idea with what they think will happen with my admission choice?

ACT: 32
Cal Poly GPA : 3.60
All AP/Honors classes taken since sophomore year in high school.
Intended Major: Aerospace Engineering

It’s definitely been quiet today. I’m pretty sure tomorrow most of the decisions will be released. An admissions representative on a college tour I went to once told me colleges like to release decisions on Friday afternoon so they don’t have to be there when the phones start ringing off the hook with questions about appeals.

I was admitted about a week ago, but I didn’t check it until yesterday. Cal Poly actually called me to remind me to check the web portal. Got in as transfer student majoring in Business Admin! Good luck to all!

I wish that they would just send all the decisions out at once. It sucks having to wait with no decision.

Got accepted today. Look out guys admissions are coming!

Freshmen applicant. The send out admissions in alphabetical order of the intended major. Good luck everybody!

Portal acceptance for EE yesterday, really cool email today. Received email at 5:00pm PST.
Woooohoooo!

@Appleteam, im pretty sure they don’t i applied Computer Engineering and still haven’t heard while my friend got in for mechanical engineering, plus our last names both start with the same letter.

I got in as a Computer Science major!

About 3.4 - 3.5 GPA unweighted with a [1660/2400] SAT score / [24/36] ACT Composite score. Crazy.

transfer or freshmen? In state or out of state?

I don’t know what to think. :frowning: It certainly seems as if most of the acceptances have been released, but in the threads for previous years, people have said that they called the office and people in there have said that they continue to send out acceptances for 2-3 weeks after the day when people first start getting accepted and the acceptances don’t go out in any particular order, but I don’t know if they just mean they are just very slowly admitting people at that point or what. It sure doesn’t seem like they accept very many people after the first few days, but of course, many applicants do not post on CC, so it is hard to tell. Someone last year (a transfer) did have their portal update with an acceptance message last year in early March when it seemed like a lot of the transfer acceptances came on the 23rd, so they apparently do really accept people later, but maybe acceptances significantly slow down by that time or something.

It also does seem like there have been few transfer acceptances here, but again, that could just be due to not having that many transfers who post to CC this year. I hope they are going to release more, but I don’t really feel too great about this…
