Cal Poly or Fullerton for Bio?

I'm not sure which to pick, I do like them both but ultimately I want a school that knows what they're doing in the sciences.

Both of the Polys are good and I think Fullerton will be fine as well. All the Cal states offer a major in Bio are going to know what they are doing. I suggest applying to both and visiting before you make a choice.

Both are surprisingly selective. For science majors, SLO is more selective than most of the UCs. (SB, I, M, SC, R)

If you have the stats, (4.1 GPA and 1350/1600 SAT), it’s a fantastic school. If you have the stats, apply to Davis and UCSD. Both have outstanding programs.

Fullerton and CP Pomona are less selective but both turn away a lot of applicants each year. Unless you are in their local area, they are probably looking for a 3.5 GPA and a 1100/1600 SAT.

I’d encourage you to apply a few less selective CSUs as well.

I’ve applied to SDSU and Pomona, I just want one to finish it off. I’m surprised at the stats for SLO, I thought it would match the UCs.

This link will show you the stats for SLOs freshman class.

SDSU is selective too. 3.6 and 1200/1600 will probably get you in this year. More than Pomona and less than SLO. Be sure to include a campus or two that is sure to admit you.

Fullerton is better in sciences, while Cal Poly is better in engineering majors. I would pick Fullerton.

I ended up going with Fullerton :)
