Hi I am new here (: I applied to Cal Poly Pomona last year: psychology as my major and undeclared as my alternate major. I have been provisionally admitted as an undeclared major. Does that mean I didn’t get in as a psychology major? Or Cal Poly did not have room?

Yes, you have been admitted as Undeclared. Most likely you did not meet the original admission standards for Psychology and you were placed into your alternate major.

You will need to meet with they Psychology department advisor and find out which courses you need to take and the GPA required so you can declare that major.

I see! I do not plan on declaring Psychology as my major anymore, but I really appreciate your reply!
If I didn’t put undeclared as my alternate major, and put some other major instead, would’ve I been denied?

Depending upon what you put as your alternate major, you could have been denied due to space restrictions.
