A LOA shouldn’t affect your ability to tag for certain schools. I would double check, but as long as you don’t take classes at CPP you should be ok.
There may be a problem here.
My guess is that you are doing the LOA to keep your options open and as a safety measure. If you change your mind about transferring or don’t get into the schools you want, then you go back to CPP the start of your junior year. Most schools do not allow you to enroll in another college while on a LOA. Here is what CPP says are the acceptable reasons to have a LOA approved
Attending another college is not listed. The UC system may not find out (or care) that you were on a LOA while taking classes at a CC, although there might be some debate about whether you really qualify as a CCC student for TAG since you are technically still a Pomona student while on a LOA. The real issue is if you try to cash in the card you were holding in your pocket. When you try to return to CPP I imagine you will want them to give you credit for the classes you took at the CC instead of throwing that year away. At which point it will be obvious to them you were enrolled at another college while on LOA and they may make you reapply for admission or otherwise deny you registration
It would be a good idea to clear your idea of taking classes at a CC while on a LOA with Pomona ahead of time.
My freshman year was at Cal Poly and my sophomore year is going to be at a community college. If I do my transfer application by this November, would I be considered a cc transfer or csu transfer? @Ohm888 said I need at least 30 semester units at my CC, but by the time I submit my app, I would only have like 16 units. By end of my sopomore year, I would have more than 30 units for sure though.
