Hi guys,
I have been accepted into Cal Poly SLO and Pomona and I’m planning on going to one of these schools but I would like to transfer to a UC my junior year. I keep hearing how difficult it is to transfer from a CSU to a UC but I want to know the facts. Currently I am leaning towards Pomona but would it be better to do two years in Pomona or one year at Pomona and my sophomore year at a CC? I would prefer not going to a CC for two years.
What do you guys think? How hard is it to transfer? What are my chances if I meet the requirements? What are the requirements?
Sorry for so many questions, I am a first generation student and I don’t have anyone to talk to.

CC students have priority in UC admissions.
If you do any units at a 4-year like CPP or SLO, you will have to be wary of unit caps. If you go over, you are ineligible.
Why be against 2 years at CC? I think its much better than one and one at a 4 year.

I wanted to have the freshman dorm experience.

That seems a bit counter-intuitive, no? Spend a year living and bonding with your classmates, only to leave for CC at the end?
You are considered to be a CC student if you have completed 30 units at a CC, and a CC is your last school of attendance. Therefore, you would get CC priority if you did one year at CPP and one year at a CC.
Again, please be wary of unit caps.
