Cal poly Pomona or Baylor university?

Majoring in mechanical engineering, so I’d like to know based on overall education which you think would be better. I know at Baylor I’d probably be happier with all the sports success they have been having, would likely do afrotc which would possibly earn me some sort of scholarship on top of my merrit aid. It also has the overall college experience that Pomona is lacking since it is a commuter school, but I live in California and Pomona would therefore be much cheaper with in-state tuition. Ultimately thorough I know my eduction is the most important thing, so which do you think would be better. Oh also I was accepted to the honors college at Pomona which gives me priority registration(super helpful with California budget cuts)

Congratulations on having those two options available. While Baylor is a known private, research university, with big-time athletics in the Big XII, Cal Poly Pomona is a polytechnic university with strong connections in the industry, and conveniently located between three major urban centers (LA, OC, IE). I cannot emphasize the importance of going to a university close to major sources of employment opportunities. Ultimately, regardless of where you go, you want to end up with a job–that’s the goal. So, unless you plan to be the next RGII, or play DI sports go to Poly.

I completely agree with CEinCali. Getting a job after graduation is way more important than choosing a school based on sports and social environment.
