Cal Poly Pomona or Community College for engineering

This past senior year, I applied to 18 schools for engineering and only got into one school: Cal Poly Pomona.
Though discouraged, I still desire to one day graduate from a school like UCLA or UC Berkeley in computer engineering, and so I have been planning to transfer from either community college or cal poly pomona to one of those schools.
However, graduating from cal poly pomona for computer engineering isnt that bad of a plan either, and so I am conflicted whether I should go to community college and seek and easy transfer, or go to cal poly pomona and have the option of either transferring or graduating.
Thanks

“…and seek and easy transfer”

There is no such thing as an easy transfer into Comp E at UCLA, UCB or Cal Poly. At Cal Poly for example they expected 147 transfer applicants this year for 16 slots.

I’d take the sure thing and go to Cal Poly Pomona. CPP has good placement and no one will care where you got your degree from after your first job anyway. Engineering is very egalitarian. It’s about what you can do, not about the paper you hold in your hand.

Good luck!

Definitely go to Cal Poly Pomona. I wouldn’t give it a second thought.

Another vote for CPP.

Congratulations getting into a CompE program! Seriously, it’s an accomplishment. It’s school on several of my friends’ kids’listsits a tough go to get into any tech programs in CA.
