The Situation:
I got into both schools for Electrical Engineering, I know Cal Poly is better in engineering, but I’m not sure I still want to purse engineering. Just think of me as Undeclared for this little comparison… I like both campuses and could see myself at either one.

The Question:
Which is a better OVERALL school and why?

Thanks.

I was in the same situation. I would choose CPP over UCSC if you are going to pursue engineering. UCSC would not be comparable to CPP in terms of engineering.

Cal Poly Pomona… no question about it. UCSC has the reputation of being a more of liberals arts-oriented, counter-culture campus, where every April 20th is celebrated by openly smoking cannabis on campus.

Potential employers will be more impressed if your resume reads “Cal Poly Pomona” than “UC Santa Cruz”.
