I called today too and they said the same thing!
I feel better knowing that a lot of you haven’t received your admissions decisions yet either.
Apparently, those who submitted their applications in early August will know first. If you submitted your application and supplemental materials in late August, early Sept, then you might be notified with a decision in early Nov
@POLSi667 what makes you think they’ll admit less students this year than the previous? And I’m pretty sure it boils down to your specific major/department and how many seats there are avail in it
i
@messybun The campus as a whole is impacted, not to the extent as SLO, but nevertheless impacted.
Yeah, that’s what I’m hoping for. Fingers crossed!
@POLSi667 Oh I see what you meant. That’ll prob have some kind of effect but still comes down to each individual major imo & the quality of competing applicants. My friend was accepted to csulb spring 2018 with a 2.8 gpa… into biomed engineering, and csulb is fully impacted like SLO.
@messybun okay, this might seem like a dumb question, but I’m transferring from another CSU. Do you you think that will hurt my chances of getting accepted?
@POLSi667 Order of priority is students from community college -> high school graduates (if applicable) -> students from another uni last
I think you’ll still have a fair chance though? Philosophy at CPP isn’t as popular as, say, Nutrition & Dietetics or Hospitality which are also both unimpacted for winter term.
anyone hear anything yet?
Status still hasn’t changed :-<
I just called and they said letters started going out a couple days ago. And he said hopefully theyll all be sent by end of November.
I called at a similar time to @queen133 and spoke to the same guy probably. He was vague about everything even when I asked him to confirm if letters are sent out in order based on when the applicant applied. I’m gonna call again later and talk to someone else b/c I feel like he was just trying to rush me off the phone 8-| I think it’s BS that letters can go out up until end of nov. considering the registration period for classes…
I’ll probably call too, I thought we would be notified via the applicant’s portal today
I have to accept for Spring semester at CSULB by Nov 15. If i get accepted by Cal Poly at the end of Nov, I would have wasted a couple hundred dollars accepting CSULB because I kinda really want to go to Cal Poly Pomona.
@MLopez24 That’s exactly why I think it’s BS that some people have to wait until end of Nov.! I’m skeptical of this information. Two days ago when I called, the girl who answered says they “know people have to make school choices so decisions will be out by early november”
You should call and tell them, see what their response to your situation is :-/
How could they say the end of November when the registration period ends on the 17th. You’re right @messybun, he was very vague on the phone. He said applicant’s whose status reads “ready for review” haven’t been looked at by the admissions committee yet. I’m going down there tomorrow to get an actual answer, their disorganization is ridiculous.
@POLSi667 He clearly doesn’t feel like being helpful lmao. When I asked him “what happens to applicants who get notified past the registration date?” he said something about there being a second registration period in december but it just sounded like a load of crap, not clear at all. Let us know what you find out tomorrow!
I just checked my portal and I got provisional admittance!!!
@messybun Congratulations!
@POLSi667 Thank you!! I hope you guys will get a notice very soon, too. So glad I don’t have to deal with CPP’s whack admissions process again lol
