@crackerwiz A few people have (last Friday), but it seems others are waiting (us included).
I’m guessing that they will open up space after an admitted student clicks their “decline” option.
My daughter applied to kinesiology, she is in state, has not heard a decision yet. Portal states still under review.
I haven’t heard back for kinesiology either. nobody has asked for them recently, but two of my friends got accepted last Friday, one for BME and one for architectural engineering
I’m still waiting for kinesiology as well. The waiting is torture!!
@Goolia66 Yes. Exactly. Last year ALL of the acceptances (except art majors that have portfolios) came out in those two days. You can clearly see this in the 2020 post that you referenced. I have stated twice on this forum that if you didn’t get in yet (disregarding art) that the only “determination” that has to be made is whether or not a person will be waitlisted or rejected. I know that it sucks that everyone has to wait, but I just want people to have some closure. And again, don’t lose hope. You may be waitlisted and get off the waitlist.
This year could be somewhat different in that there was no ED round. They didn’t follow their regular protocol of releases, so it’s hard to say with certainty what they’re doing.
what do you have to say about the majors that no one has heard from yet? If no one has heard, like for journalism and several other majors where there haven’t been any acceptances reported on forums yet, what do you think about that? I could be wrong but I think without early decision acceptances are due to deviate from last years and years previous patterns, there are subtle changes that do not correlate from last year, and several people have reported that admissions will continue to roll out as time goes on from words of the Admissions Office.
@Dankiel in fact there are a few acceptances posted in that thread which are outside of that major or majors with potfolios, few yes but there is hope!
I just called admissions and their phones are going crazy. They said that not all acceptances have gone out yet. Things are different this year due to not having Early Decision. He said everyone needs to be patient and periodically check their portals, because more acceptances will be coming over the next few WEEKS. There is no particular order to the acceptances, they are not accepting people based on those that have already declined.
@allieswear12 My friend is a journalism major. He found out he was accepted last week. He doesn’t really want to go to SLO, but like many seniors, he is waiting to hear from the UC’s before he declines SLO. I don’t think the UC decisions for non-regents scholars will be released before mid-March. They should release them earlier to people can know their full options before they accept/decline.
Thank you! @Bigguy17
does anyone know of anyone who has been accepted for marine biology?
I just got into Environmental Earth and Soil Sciences, my alternate major about an hour ago. I didn’t get into my first major choice Environmental Engineering.
In-state
GPA: 4.35
SAT: 1270/1600
ACT: 25
@noahlazer thanks for posting your acceptance today, gives real hope to all those still waiting.
Just a suggestion fwiw, try to transfer into enviro eng after you have some classes under your belt as it sounds like they would share some core classes. The word we got on our tour was that its not as impossible as they made it out to be just a few years ago. Good luck.
thank you for calling! this at least provides some closure
my friend got into Cal Poly approximately 7 am this morning so they are still rolling out
@noahlazer thank you thank you thank you for that post. Just checked my portal and I got in to my second choice also, exactly the same as yours!!! Amazing! So exciting-better than a denial any day!!!
I just got into Cal Poly for my alternate major, Environmental Earth and Soil Sciences. My first choice was Biology.
Cal Poly GPA 3.83
1810 SAT score
27 ACT.
Does your alternate show on your portal?
