@eyemgh Hello, I was waitlisted for computer science with a 4.08 9-11 gpa and a 34 ACT. I have max Hours for EC’s and all that. How are my chances of getting off this waitlist?

@Banker1 That link )http://content-calpoly-edu.s3.amazonaws.com/ir/1/images/2017-18%20Enrollment%20Targets%20and%20Projections.pdf) is incredibly useful. Who knew that it almost 3x easier to get in as a “Computer Engineering” major vs. “Computer Science”. Would love to know how they calculate how many to admit/waitlist to be able to get to 130. I am sure it is changing all the time as kids apply to more schools and their yield goes down. In any case, good luck to all those on the waitlist - without knowing how many they have on the waitlist and how many people turn down offers of admission, it is probably too hard to estimate the chances. I would advise folks to get excited about their top choice for schools they are in, start thinking about how awesome that college is going to be. Then, in the future, if you get an even nicer option - that is a great upside.

@tbjumpmam, I wouldn’t know. Sorry.

what is the difference between open house and the tours offered at Cal Poly SLO?

Are the rejections out yet?

@StressedinCA The Open House is an annual 3-day-long event for admitted students, students, alumni and the entire SLO community. Friday is the admitted students day. More info here: http://orientation.calpoly.edu/open-house and from here you can download the app that has the schedule.

I just wanted to know if I would miss a whole lot if I decide to go for a tour later on instead of attending Open House

@StressedinCA - If you can go to Open House definitiely go to that versus just a generic campus tour - there is much more to see and more in-depth information shared. The campus is thriving with activities and the departments are all open and inviting for sitting in on classes, demos, etc. It is a great experience!!

@eyemgh My application still says no determination has been made and when I called they said that they are reviewing my application by hand. Any ideas why?

Nope. Sorry.

@Wolfmom123 Congrats to your son! Are you willing to share his MCA? My son is interested in applying to IT next fall and I’m wondering if he has a shot. Thank you!

@garyko
Hi did you got any answer from them?
Its April 1st and I still havn’t got any answer

How bad it is that its April 1st and still no answer from Cal Poly? Anyone in similar situation? Or know what it means?

April 2nd (In UK at least) and still “no determination has been made at this time”. Should I just call tomorrow (Monday)?

@toastiecheez I am in the same boat as you. I’m an international student. And still did not get an answer.

@toastiecheez @Davido123 I am a domestic student who studied in India until 10th grade and I still havent received a decision

@toastiecheez @Davido123 look at this thread.Some international students didn’t get their decision until April 24.

She got rejected. He just really hope se timr next week will have answers. Wonder if there is any reason to call.

Did anybody call admission early today ?
