Cal Poly SLO CE vs UCSD ECE: CE

Hello, I recently got accepted into both of these colleges. I recently posted about UCI vs SLO, and I was confident about going to Cal poly SLO, however, I got accepted to my reach school (UCSD). I’m not sure which one of these programs are better to be honest. I might switch into CS (easy to do at Cal Poly SLO, while it is near impossible at UCSD). Which schools have more opportunities with internships and after undergrad? How are the programs for CE?

thank you

They’re kinda similar? i think CE takes more classes.

Getting into UCSD CS or CSE/CE is literally a lottery for anyone with >3.3 GPA in the screening courses. ECE/CE (the one you showed) usually requires a >3.7 GPA in screening to be competitive for one of the few spots. Unless your heart is set on UCSD and you’re okay with doing a parallel nonimpacted major (ie Cognitive Science with emphasis in computation or HCI) or applying to more impacted majors (like Math-CS and Data Science), you should go to Cal Poly. Their engineers are pretty well equipped for CS jobs in Silicon Valley as well.

i got in already for ECE:CE oof

@CaliCSEngineer oops, didn’t pick up on that. What’d you decide on?
