@thawksworth - In the portal’s Application Status, above the “Congratulations, you have been selected for admission to Cal Poly” there is a grid showing some identifying application information, including “Academic Plan/Major”. That’s where I see my major.
My son was accepted today. OOS. His acceptance says Congratulations, you have been selected for admission to Cal Poly pending your meeting the following Terms and Conditions. Does anyone know if this message is the standard message or is the “pending terms and conditions” some type of conditional acceptance?
@1234Hoku That’s standard boilerplate. It means don’t go too crazy your senior year of HS and pass all your classes. 
@Justakid129 No need to be worried with those stats provided you completed the application correctly. Yes the decisions will continue to come out in waves.
@Gumbymom Do you expect transfer decision will come out last?
@Sudsmom Usually, it goes all freshmen (OOS, in-state, waitlist) and then onto transfers.
@outafaz - Remember, they accept more than the actual number of available slots knowing that a certain percentage will not attend. So hearing that 100 people got accepted to CS does not mean that there are no more slots available. Not sure of the exact percentage over the # of slots that they admit per major, but it’s a decent amount. Best of luck to you and hope you hear good news soon! Thankful this phase is past for us as my son is a freshman now.
They’d accept at least 300 to get the 100 spots filled. And the yield is still lower (around 25%) in Engineering so it could be more like 400.
In state liberal studies major with a second choice of sociology. I am so nervous!! My sat was a 1030 but my gpa was 3.8. Trying to stay in state is horribly difficult with the competition. The affordability to go to a cal state for the tuition is so good that it would pain me not to get in and have to go to an out of state college and pay over 45k a year.
Waiting on CP and SDSU, if all else fails you’ll catch me at University of Oregon!! lol
I find it unfair that they let out of state students know first, at the same time I also find it unfair that we all applied in October/November and are finding out now. Whatever haha
OOS and just got accepted into Business Administration!!!

Generally speaking, are OOS MCA scores and stats higher, lower or about the same as in state MCA scores and stats per major?
