I love Cal Poly. But I'm having to deal with the fact that I have a very slim shot at being accepted into Psychology.

My question is this: How much does work experience count? I have lots of work experience and lots of community service work, and all of my work thus far has been directly related to my major.

Plus, my high school is extremely competitive and one of the best in the state. And I'm a CA resident.

Do you think that could possibly counter my low GPA?

GPA: 3.23
SAT: 1850 (new scores come out soon, hoping to improve.
ACT: 27 (33 English, 27 Math, 26 Science)

Give it to me straight. But a little sugar coated. I'm already a little heartbroken that I didn't work harder in high school.

EDIT: And I have shown tremendous and steady improvement throughout my 4 years. If that counts for anything.
