I want to apply to Cal Poly SLO, but I'm not sure I can get in. Also I am wondering if I should apply ED, because I have heard conflicting opinions on whether it improves the chances of being admitted. I want to apply as a Biochemistry major by the way and am from California.
Stats:
4.0 Cal Poly GPA (Weighted from 9th to 11th grade)
33 ACT
President of a Volunteer club at my school.

You have a very good chance of getting into SLO. Freshman Profile for 2104 School of Science are as follows:
Average GPA: 4.06 Average ACT: 30

There are conflicting reports about if it is easier to get into SLO during ED, but I have been unable to find any substantial information to indicate it is true or not.

I would only apply ED if you are 100% certain that SLO is your first choice and you are willing to accept the FA package they offer. If you are in need of FA, you will not be able to compare your FA against other schools since ED is binding.

Good Luck.
