Thanks Ektaylor...
although that doesn't alleviate my worry at all... I'm still waiting; applied yesterday >_<

I sent mine in 3/24/2008 and received the approval on Mon 4/7/2008 11:43 AM. If our theory holds true, I would say that they began putting approved students in the system on 4/7/08. I would venture further and say that they probably batch the decisions every Monday but withhold the information from the applicants until 4/30/08.

^^ That's a very reasonable piece of speculation there changusmc.

sry to mislead you guys
Im not tap certified at berkeley
im TAP for UCLA

Glad to see someone else get the e-mail - so we now have 4 people (confirmed).

csleet72004, you got some great extracurriculars - but the fact that you're not TAP certified for UCB and you don't have an exceptional GPA makes me wonder if theory is still valid.

Sorry if I come off as a total arse - it's just that I never heard of someone with a 3.0 get into UCB Econ (but then again, I don't know of many who have your EC's, so I could be very wrong)

But...since you got the e-mail, I encourage everyone who sees this thread to try this theory out - the fact that csleet got it proves that admission offices did not tell the housing department to stop taking in requests. The more people we get, the better guesses we can make.

Csleet ... I do hope you get in - with your job experience I'm sure you'll bring in something unique to Cal.

Peace

csleet did mention that he had an upward trend and the grades that shot his GPA down were taken when he was a HS student going to a CCC. Maybe the UCs did not factor in those classes and based their decision on his CCC performance only.

Ah, I did not catch that.

If so, then it would make perfect sense.

Btw, sorry for adulterating your name, cs1337 - I figured you must the "1337" must have been leetspeak.

Cheers

im really hoping its true and yes my grade trend improvement has been good

i was reading that and it gives me hope
the 1st line says

All currently registered and all newly admitted UC Berkeley students
for eligibilty if anyone hasnt seen that

Cs, would you mind listing your GPA for each semester you have taken and date when the semesters were taken?

my community college is on semester system.
i got a 3.4 1st fall full time semester
then 3.6 the spring semester after that
4.0 during the summer
then 3.8 last fall semester

I am TAP certified for Berkeley but I have not done the Cal rental yet because I am to darn nervous.

Thedude44: You have to sacrifice for our community bro. Sign up for cal rentals and let us know what happens!

It's the only just thing to do, Thedude44.

-Thedude44

You MUST do it.

I don't think Tap students get their applications looked at first though.

go find out if you got those car rentals

that car joke is getting old. plus it wasn't funny or clever to begin with.

it was never meant to be funny, it's more of just mocking this thread over and over to annoy.

RCHANG you killed it and buried it 10 feet under. Your attempts are gone unnoticed. You're like the little 5 year old girl throwing tantrums just to get attention. Are you unable to get attention from your real friends and family? Here's some attention for you.

I got an F and a D my first semester at CC (Fall 06) Bad times.. Personal Problems, the usual.

but all my subsequent semesters were like 4.0 , 3.4 , 3.6 , 3.0, 3.5

i got into sd and irvine so far, maybe that's an indicator it doesn't affect me O_O? What do you guys think, will this murder my UCLA app? Thanks

I'm at like a 3.43 gpa now and TAP certified for UCLA, Linguistics major, (yes I really do enjoy Linguistics).

Lackofsense said it best.

I think this applies to you more than anyone else.

Well done changusmc, case closed.
