Work experience: 4 years U.S. Marines (Computer Networking MOS), 2 years part time while attending community college at a dental office.

Essays: Wrote about being older than even most transfer students and with having military experience in the field of my major, I know it is what I want to do for a career. Also wrote about an experience important to me, which was Marine Corps Boot Camp and basically talked about how that was the greatest challenge in my life.

Applied to: College of Letters and Science (Computer Science)

I wonder if after receiving changusmc's email, calrentals went into a little more depth as to why they approved his rental and found out he was recently accepted as a transfer and then realized they made a mistake, so now they'll double check all those applicants who send in requests? Just another very speculative theory to add to the list...

It may come to play soon after being bombarded by so many requests in couple days, haha....I hope there is no spy cal rent rep on this thread who is informing the office about what is going on, haha :)

There most likely is; myBerkeleyApp, a representative from the application itself, not the admission process has recently become active on the UCB board --not sure if he/she has ventured onto the transfer boards-- and has mentioned that the application office has been lurking these boards for awhile now, checking for any unvoiced problems with the application itself.

I heard about him. I'm sure they also want to make sure students are not speculating about acceptances thru certain logins as they did last year with the housing applications...:)

They may, but it really isn't that big of a problem; for as long as I can remember, I have heard of people finding glitches in the system allowing them to see indirectly their admission in whatever manifestation before official decisions had been posted --it's the nature of the internet really, if there is a hole it will be exposed in time. We can even spin it into a positive for UCB, as without our prodding, they wouldn't have any idea of the hole (just think of it as beta-testing).

That's not too bad compared to Residence Halls, where it can cost from:

No Meal Plans
Wada Apartments(doubles) - $8,518 / academic year (9 months) = $946.44 per month
Channing Bowditch Apartments (doubles) - $899 per month

With Meal Plans
2500 points in Meal plans equate to about $2,291.67, which is included in the prices
Units (double) - ($13,170 - $2,291.67) / 9 = $1,208.33 per month
Clark Kerr (triple) - ($14,502 - $2,291.67) / 9 = $1356.70 per month
Foothil (double) - ($16,233 - $2,291.67) / 9 = $1,549.04 per month

The sizes of the rooms above are:
Wada - 200 sq. ft. for 2 people
Channing - 200 sq. ft for 2 people
Units - 181 sq. ft. for 2 people
Kerr - 270 sq. ft for 3 people
Foothill - 168 sq. ft. for 2 people

So, I'd say $1,600 per month for a 2 bedroom, which comes out to $800 per person, is pretty decent. That is, if you're willing to give up convenience to live a little further from campus. I'm planning on living in Wada.

blurry, it does say you're at the Main "Students" Menu, that sounds promising to me, and it doesn't say you're any other type of visitor/affiliate.

yeah, i wouldn't worry xleper17, it's still early in the process. While all that speculation was going on last year about whether or not you could see the housing application on the myberkeleyapp site, some applicants (who were eventually accepted) weren't able to see the application until only a few days before decisions were released.
