Cal State Long Beach!

Hello! I’m currently a Junior at San Gabriel High School. I like to major in Fashion Merchandising and I would like to attend to CSULB. My Academic GPA now is 4.20 and I don’t take the NEW SAT yet until May or June. I had became Treasury for Anime Anonymous Club and Newspaper Reporter for Vietnamese Club. May I ask what is my chance to get into CSULB and how competitive considering my major at CSULB (hard to get in?)? Thanks <3

We can’t chance you without test scores.

Your GPA looks competitive but you need to calculate your CSU/UC GPA: https://rogerhub.com/gpa-calculator-uc/

As @newjereseygirl98 stated, no test scores, no chances.

When you get your test scores, you can calculate your eligibility index (EI)
(CSU GPA. X 800) + (SAT Math + CR)
If your EI is 3900+, you stand a decent chance at an acceptance.

My CSU/UC GPA from my freshman year to the first semester of my Junior year is 3.83 right now

CSU/UC GPA only uses 10-11th grades in the calculation. Come back when you have test scores?? How about PSAT scores?

Base on the new SAT score (1600) I have 1110

You stated above your CSU GPA is 3.83 but you also stated that you included 9th grades. What is it for 10-11th only. Once you have the correct GPA, calculate your EI based on the formula in post # 2.

Hey I just took the new SAT and my score is 1070/1600. And my eligible index is 4,166, I’m a California resident though

You look like a Match.

@YuukiKurosu1999 Honestly, I think you would get in easily. Your GPA is great and the best part about CSUs is that they de-emphasize the use of standardized tests.

Consider some safety schools. CSULB is a heavily-impacted campus. In fact, it has some of the most applicants in the entire nation! That being said, CSUs tend to accept those in there local area before anyone else, so admissions are VERY unpredictable.
