<p>I’ve heard from my counselor that this college isn’t really popular with our students. (no one applied or got accepted here.)</p>

<p>If anyone lives in the L.A. vicinity or attends here, could you tell me the basics of this college? </p>

<li><p>Could you tell me the ethnic/racial makeup?</p></li>
<li><p>Overall quality of teachers and academics?</p></li>
<li><p>Environment, how is it?</p></li>
</ol>

<p>anything else that aren’t officious (info that the tour guides are hesitant to tell), problems, etc.</p>

<p>i've heard that cal state la is considered in the lower tier of CSU schools.</p>

<p>It's very diverse in terms of nationality as well as economic class.</p>

<p>Academically, it doesn't have a great reputation among CSU's, although I'm sure that varies from major to major.</p>

<p>It's much more of a commuter school than some of the other CSU's (Humboldt, Sonoma, SDSU etc.). Most students grew up in the L.A. area.</p>
