Hey guys,

I was just looking through the old final exams from Math 1A and I was a bit surprised to see a proof(?) on one of them. The reason I put the (?) is because I'm not exactly sure that it's a full-on mathematical proof ("Prove that [xln(x) >= 1-x] for x>0") - what is expected for this problem?

I took Calc AB this year and almost surely got a 5 on the exam, but we did no proofs in class (and obviously none were on the exam). If anyone could provide some insight into the necessity of proofs for success in 1A (and as a prereq for 1B) that would be much appreciated.
