calculating GPA

I am confused with the GPA calculation for CSUs.

They said on the applicationto put in the grades from 10th - 12th. But since the 12th GPA is not ready when we apply, do they still count? Some people said as long as we pass all subjects in 12th, we are fine. But some said we have to maintain the GPA even in 12th for final approval. Do they re-calculate the GPA after we submit the official transcript? If I pass all subjects in 12th, but not getting enough As to maintain the GPA, will they rescind me? I have a 3.54 till 11th, but I am taking too many APs this year, and I am concerned my GPA may drop to 3.3.

Thanks.

Using 12th grade is actually a typo. Use the CSU mentor GPA calculator for your 10-11th grades. Senior grades are used to maintain your provisional admission and to make sure you have passed all the a-g course requirements. For provisional admission, you need to pass your 12th grades classes (a-g courses) with a C or higher. Most CSU’s state you need to maintain your current GPA, but it really means to do not go from A’s and B’s to B’s and C’s or D’s.

The UC’s require that you maintain a weighted 3.0 GPA Senior year to maintain your provisional admission.

oh thank you Gumbymom! That helps to relieve some of my stresses. I know I can pass all subjects in 12th, just worry if I can get all As and Bs. Thanks again.
