Okay, so I bought a TI-Nspire CX to use on the SAT Math II Subject Test since I didn't have a graphing calculator. I took that and Math I, and moved on to prepare for my ACT the following week. A few days ago, however, I was doing some UTexas Quest homework for Physics and noticed that the default for the calculator is radians, when I thought the operating mode was degrees. I got my Subject Test scores today and noticed a significant drop in my scores from practice tests in math (where I used a TI-31), and I'm expecting a similar drop in ACT Math. Does anyone recall how many ACT questions required computation of trig functions?

If I remember correctly, only a few.

But on a CX, you should easily be able to convert from radians to degrees, and vice versa. It’s crucial that you know which mode you are using. As a simple test, enter sin(90) or something like that. If you get 1, you’re in degree mode.
