Calculator(s)??

While writing the Math IC subject test and the math section in the SAT I, are you allowed to have more than one calculator with you? (i.e. a Scientific calculator + a Graphing calculator?)

I think you may be questioned by a proctor. Math problems on the SAT aren't so complex that you would need an additional scientific calculator. The only things you'll be needing your calculator for are some quick multiplication and division problems. Everything else you can pretty much just use logic.

Bump ^^^^^^

yeah you can. however, you can only use one at a time. you have to decide which one to use at the beginning of the test, and if you want to switch, you have to have a reason and raise your hand and ask the proctor if you can switch.

in our center, a few people had both the graphing as well as the scientific calc on their desks! but our proctor was new i guess, she had no idea we could substitute our SAT IIs and delayed the test by quite a bit by asking for the supervisor!!

why don't you just use graphing calc?

well if sometimes the placing of the keys is different in the graphing and the scientific calculators. so if u've been using the sci calc for long, simple calculations are faster with the sci calc than the graphing calc.

in A-levels graphing calcs aren't allowed so i'm more used to my sci calc. but i can still operate the graphing calc. i used the graphing calc for math IIc though. but never once used the graphing function!!
