I'll be taking Accounting this year, and I'll be using my TI-84 Plus. Is there a way to set up the calculator so that it automatically assumes the last two digits are behind the decimal? Normal adding machine calculators are like this, and it's way easier to work with money this way. It doesn't say anything about this in the instruction book that I can find, but I've been known to be blind before.

Also, does anyone know much about the Finance application that comes standard with the calculator? I've never had a use for it before, but I'm wondering if it will help make my work easier.

And a TI-89 is NOT an option, so all you CCers shouldn't even suggest it. If my 84 doesn't do it, it can't be done.

I just got a TI-84 Plus, and it is awesome. Don't know how to help, so...yeah...

hmm, cant you get a financial calculator for that class? i dont think they are that expensive.

I have a TI-34 which is a financial calculator...it doesn't do the whole decimal point thing automatically and I don't know whether you can program it to (I would assume so if it's a financial calculator), but it was only about 20 dollars. :)
