I haven't done math for long time (took a gap year this year) and I was just wondering how hard (or easy) Calc 1 is? I heard from a friend at Penn that it was really hard. I did IB standard math which has some calculus in it and got a 7.

anyone have any idea?

I am not familiar with the IB system, so take my advice with caution.

Calc 1 in Arts & Sciences was not very hard for me, but I had already taken AP Calculus BC. It depends on who’s the teacher too, because both professors and graduate students teach Calc 1. I had a graduate student, and he was very good, so I didn’t find it too bad.

If you have time, e-mail a professor in the department to look at previous exams.
