Calculus at UCSD for Econ Major

okay so my goal is to apply as an econ major for UCSD in December. I took pre-cal in the the spring and got an A. I understand math fairly well, but have to study everyday and do work problems to understand concepts that some of my classmates say is very easy. After checking assist, I see that the requirement is either Math 150A,B,C or Math121 and Math 122. 150 denotes the engineering, sciences, and mathematics and the 121/122 denotes the business aspect of it. I know many people who said the 121/122 was a water down version of the 150 (the hard calculus?). So I wanted to know is it wise for me to take the engineering mathematics series over the business one? The assist site for the UCSD said they strongly recommend the 150 series for graduate level, but I don't see my self getting a masters in economics. My other concern was UCSD hike in the GPA for tag from 3.0 to 3.5 which worries me about my grades since my course load is very heavy as it is for both the fall and the spring semester due to no summer classes available. So how math heavy is the UCSD econ courses? and what do you guys recommend I do. Any help, comments and suggestions are welcomed.

Thanks in advance :)

Econ at UCSD is not extremely math calculus heavy. You should be fine with the watered down calc classes. As long as you mr algebra is strong you should be fine. Grad level Econ is another story.

Is business calculus transferable from your community college? I usually don’t like the concept of biz calc since it might not be transferable to some schools. Perhaps if you don’t care about grad school it’s ok but what are your future plans?
