I have heard many bad things, mainly from my brother and his friends. So I guess my question is, is Calculus at UT really that bad? I am currently taking the first semester, so I will be taking the second semester this upcoming fall. Would I be better off taking the second part of calc at a local cc?

I’m speaking strictly on Math 408K and 408L. My calculus class would transfer and give me credit for 408K.

My advice–take Math 408L at your local community college. Calculus can wreak havoc on your GPA, especially since you did not take 408K at UT. I presume you are already taking it at a CC, so why not finish the sequence this summer?

My daughter will be taking Calculus this summer for business at the local CC. It is less expensive and will not impact her UT GPA.

Yes im currently enrolled in MATH 2413 at a CC. So the stories are true?

The stories have been true since I was an undergrad in 1982, and have intensified since then. If you are not an engineering or math major, where calculus is paramount, then my advice is to finish the sequence at CC.
