Let's say...

I get a B in Calculus
My friend get an A in Short Calculus

Who has a better chance in getting into UC Berkeley and UCLA

econ major

econ-biz major

business major

UCLA/UCB does not accept the "Intro to calculus" or "A brief course in calculus" courses for either major. You need the calculus series that is required for all sciencie/engineering majors.

UCB accepts short calculus for business and econ major

a brief course in calculus is pretty much a useless class

yeah it's called "Elements of Calculus" at my CC and it's not impressive. I'd take Cal I...it's not really too tough and will look better. Worry about Cal II if you need to take it...that's the one that usually gives straight A students their first B.

at my schools, it's called "math analysis for Business and Social Science", so the adcom will have no idea whether it's a calculus or algebra-based math.

that is the bad part :(
Whey can't they just call it "Business Calculus"?
