im an incoming freshman and for fall quarter im taking math20B.

for this class there are 2 required textbooks. so, i already bought the first one online but i cant find the "*2 Calculus Early Transcendentals (text+questionnaire)"
is that book part of the first required textbook? i cant find it online.

i emailed the math department advisers about that and they said we only need one book and the questionnaire isn’t required by the department. so i think you have everything you need.

I don’t know much but I’m guessing from what I’ve seen is that the * indicates it’s the same book but in a pack or something. When I see it, it normally seems to be one of the texts + a wrkbk or notecards or something. Like one of my classes requires a wrkbk and textbook, but there’s also a required option that has the * and is the text + wrkbk. I really don’t the school would make someone buy the same book twice, so check if it’s the same book or not. Then again I’m saying I don’t know for sure since I just started school too, that’s just my interpretation. I really wish the bookstore had a key or something that would clarify some things.

I have no idea what the questionnaire is, but I got through 20B and 20C last year without one, so I don’t think it’s necessary. Just the book, if anything, should be enough. (:

It says if you are taking the whole series (AB&C) then buy the Single & Multivariable; if you are only taking C, then you can buy the Multivariable one. At least that’s what I understand from the link.

i think my question is similar to adl’s. so basically the book recommended for my math 20A class posted on the bookstore has a different isbn number than the one posted on the math department website listed above. On the bookstore the book is Calculus Early Transcendentals, 9781429210744. Does anyone know why its different? Which book should I be getting? Thanks!
