Calgrant

"The University of California is committed to ensuring that Cal Grant recipients are not disadvantaged by delays in the approval of the State budget.

UCSB will begin downloading and processing Cal Grant awards on September 8. Our goal is to begin disbursing processed Cal Grant awards to students’ BARC accounts by Friday, September 12.

As noted in our prior update, we will credit aid to students’ BARC accounts on a daily basis from September 12 to September 25, the first day of classes. Beginning September 29, we will revert to a twice-per-week disbursement schedule.

For your information, the fall 08 fee payment deadline has been extended to September 16. "

The governor is cutting it quite close if you ask me.

I received my Cal Grant Access already.

Free money baby!

Actually, they found out I was denied for Cal Grant A and just switched me over to full University Grant eligibility. I asked them what happened, and they told me that they didn't even check to see if I was eligible for Cal Grant B; and upon looking it up, they realized that I should have gotten that one, in addition to the University Grant.

Just today, a financial aid office representative called my phone, and told me that they fixed up the problem, and my BARC now reads that Cal Grant Access has been paid.

Either way, as long as your EFC is at $0, then University Grant will cover anything you don't get from the Cal Grant. The only real problem here was that this could have jeopardized my future eligibility for Cal Grant B in the coming years.

I see. So what is Cal Grant Access?

And has anyone gotten their CALGRANT A or B disbursed yet?

Cal Grant Access is what is listed on your billing statement. It doesn't say A or B.

Ah, my mistake. The Transaction Detail under your BARC will say A or B. My "Cal Grant B Stipend" showed up.

As far as I know, though, it had said Cal Grant Access everywhere else I checked.

looks like my calgrant won't go through until after the deadline

they messed up something and need to manually submit some paperwork; like grade level verification...

i'm going to submit a fin aid payment agreement form to defer the payment

anyone else in the same situation?

my calgrant came in

yea im guessing most came for most people

not me.... i hope it comes before the deadline... (It's not confirmed)

...Just found out that in my cal grant status that it says that my school of attendance is UCI instead of UCSB... wth?!

"Just found out that in my cal grant status that it says that my school of attendance is UCI instead of UCSB... wth?!"

are you kidding? you should call them in tomorrow...and file a payment agreement form if you owe money through BARC

also edit the school: <a href="https://mygrantinfo.csac.ca.gov/logon.asp%5B/url%5D">https://mygrantinfo.csac.ca.gov/logon.asp</a></p>

I tried to edit it, but it says that the award is on hold and once its not i can edit the school...

call CSAC and the school

alright so i finally got the calgrant to go through on finaid:
now i just have to wait for it to be deposited in BARC

I haven't got my Calgrant yet and I'm worried. Because the next quarter deadline is approaching, it's already october 7th today, I don't know are they still distributing it little by little.

you should have gotten it by now...check the cal grant site: <a href="https://mygrantinfo.csac.ca.gov/logon.asp%5B/url%5D">https://mygrantinfo.csac.ca.gov/logon.asp</a></p>

and visit the fin aid office on campus

Yep, got my calgrant around mid-september.
