i just logged into my ucsb portal, and they had a schedule of deadlines, and it said that GPA verification forms were due March 2 :'[

and also that fafsa was due march 2 as well

am i screwed?!!?! I'm kind of worried because my cal grant from 2 years ago in high school was placed on reserve until I transfered, but did I screw up?

Okay so I just logged into my cal grant stuff online and it says my calgrant renewal is pending…which i think is good cause ive had it on reserve for the last 2 years for when i transfer–my gpa was automatically sent and everything, the only thing is, I haven’t submitted my fafsa yet :[

My question is do I have to start a new fafsa all over again? or do i take last years and just edit it and add the new UC schools to the list?

thanks for your help anyone, I suck and am freaking out

nevermind I think i got it…there’s just no way around having missed the march 2 deadline for fafsa…at least my cal grant gpa was submitted on time :]

You must submit a new FAFSA every year. The 2010-2011 FAFSA has been available since January 1, 2010. You can still submit, but you’ve missed the priority deadline and might see a reduction in the aid you might have received. You need to submit FAFSA to remain eligible for Cal Grant.

I do not know how missing the priority deadline for Cal Grant affects a deferred/ “on hold” Cal Grant, but get your FAFSA in as soon as possible. The wording on this makes me believe that having missed that deadline might mean you won’t be eligible for the entitlement award. I’m still looking for confirmation on this.

So I’ve been led to understand that if you qualify for a Cal grant that it is renewed in subsequent years even if you income level rises to above the minimum. Is this actually true? Does anyone have experience with this? Our income was in below the maximum for the first year but will be somewhat above the maximum for the 2nd year and I don’t want to lose the Cal Grant. Anyone know the answer to this? THANKS.

I’m wondering the same thing about GPA. Because I had applied for CalGrants last year and was just renewing, I didn’t need to submit my GPA verification form this year. I’m wondering if this will continue at the UC, or if I will need to submit again at the UC. My intended major typically has a low (2.7-3.2) GPA, and below a 3.0 disqualifies undergrads from CalGrants (at least from one of the grants).
