California school suggestions

Hey everyone. I was wondering if you guys could give me the best schools in Californid. I am not interested in any of the state schools, any of the UC's (since I am from the east coast and almost impossible to get into), Stanford (impossible to get into), or Cal Tech. I really like USC. USC is considered a reach school for me, but not by much. I just love the whole California and west coast culture. I am looking to go to school anywhere between LA and the Bay area. I've heard good things about Occidental as well. Pomona is too much of a reach for me and I am looking for possible schools, maybe a safety, and one reach school. I am hispanic and I want to study either Economics or Business.

thanks,

Schools to Consider:

Pitzer
Santa Clara U
Pepperdine
Loyola Marymount
CalPoly SLO

If you are a girl, then Mills.
There’s also USF
U of San Diego
U of Redlands
U of La Verne

Not all of the UCs are super-selective… though the out of state cost is high and financial aid minimal if that is a concern.

CSU is generally less expensive and less selective (see minimum out of state eligibility here [CSUMentor - Plan for College - High School Students - Eligibility Index - Nonresidents Residents](<a href=“Cal State Apply | CSU”>Cal State Apply | CSU) ), though some campuses and majors are selective (e.g. Cal Poly SLO is quite selective). You can see lists of which campuses and majors are impacted (more selective than the minimum eligibility) here [Impaction | Student Academic Support | CSU](http://calstate.edu/SAS/impactioninfo.shtml) .
